Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath brings new content on May 26th.

The next major update to Mortal Kombat 11 has finally been revealed, and it will bring a host of new content to the game along with new guest characters. Recently a new trailer for an expansion to the game released and gave us a look at the upcoming story mode portion of Aftermath which has Liu Kang and Raiden enlisting the help of Fujin, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung to obtain another copy of Kronika’s crown after the original was destroyed in a skirmish with the trio. This means that the three characters will be sent back in time to obtain another copy of the crown so that Liu Kang and Raiden can safely restart history without erasing all of reality.

New Content

The upcoming content that will be available once Aftermath drops will have the previously mentioned story mode along with three new Arena maps to play on with RetroKade and the Klassic Dead Pool returning from previous games with stage fatalities also making a return in certain stages. Also making a return is Friendships which instead of having the player create a fatality will have fighters unleashing a friendship finisher like Subzero bringing in an ice cream trolley and eating a popsicle or Kano becoming a grill master, we’ll have to see what other friendships will be in the game but whatever they are it will be fun and interesting to see what they do. Finally, they revealed three new characters coming to the game with the Aftermath expansion, two of them will be returning fighters in the form of Fujin and Sheeva who will once again be playable with the last character being a guest character from a different series.

Dead or Alive you’re coming with me.

The last character revealed for Aftermath is none other than Detroit’s finest police officer is coming to Mortal Kombat. Alex Murphy or as he’s better known to the public as RoboCop will be a new character available to owners of Aftermath, not much information is known at the moment but Ed Boon has confirmed Peter Weller who voiced the titular character in the original trilogy of films will come back to voice the iconic character. RoboCOp will be the fourth guest character to join Mortal Kombat 11 with Joker, Terminator and Spawn being other guests currently in the game thanks to DLC.
